Application Procedures

As an applicant for a certificated position in the Joseph City Public Schools, you must:

  1. File a completed application (in sidebar at left of this page) with the District Office.
  2. Submit a copy of the following: 
    A.   A complete transcript of your college or university credits. 
    B.  Three letters of reference or a college/university placement file. If possible, please include a letter of recommendation from your current supervisor.
  3. You should be specific as to the position desired, subject, grade level(s), and secondary
    subject(s).
  4. You should be specific when listing the type(s) of certificates you now have or qualify to
    have. You must possess the appropriate Arizona Certificate required for the position, or
    be eligible, for which you are applying.
  5. We will not grant interviews until your file is complete with application, transcripts,
    Arizona Certificates, and confidential file and/or three letters of reference.
  6. Providing your social security number on the employment application is optional, since that information is sent via email. You may provide your social security number upon employment.

Certification Requirements

To be a qualified educator within the definition of Arizona Statutes, a person must possess a valid certificate issued by the lawful authorities of the State of Arizona. You may obtain complete information regarding certification from:

Additional Information

We will conduct an application screening, which includes reference checks, once your application is completed and we identify the position for which you are qualified. Depending on the number of applicants for the particular job vacancy, we will interview either all candidates with the required experience and credentials or only those with superior experience and credentials.

You may check the status of your application at any time by calling or writing the District Office. Please remember that we will only review complete files for possible interviews. The school principals or district superintendent will initiate these interviews.
