Technology Department

The Technology Department at Joseph City School District is committed to providing our students with the best available computer equipment and technology. We know that improved technology enriches student learning and increases student achievement overall.

Vision Statement

To provide all students and staff of Joseph City Schools with a comprehensive program of study that integrates the use of technology across the curriculum to enhance instruction and learning opportunities. To design learning opportunities which integrate state and national academic, workplace, and technology standards. To offer a learning environment that is rich in “hands-on” experiences for students and staff to use electronic mail, Internet, and other emerging technologies to influence and promote lifelong learning that strives for academic excellence, and contributes to a positive society.

To support this vision, a 1 GB fiber optic backbone connects the junior high, high school, and elementary school campuses. This LAN link, along with 1 GB and 100 mb connections to the desktop, provide access to the Internet, online resources, and network access, allowing centralized software applications to be used throughout the district. Infrastructure improvements are ongoing to provide full 1 GB connections to every desktop.

The district has a 1.16 student to computer ratio, with full labs in select elementary and high school classrooms. The classrooms are also equipped with projectors (100%), interactive boards or slates (85%), and Document cameras (75%).

Our focus is to provide the best possible technical support and maintenance to meet the district’s technology related needs. For specific technology related issues or questions about services we provide, please feel free to contact us directly.
